The team’s name, logo, and jersey were unveiled on December 20, 2015. The team’s colors are yellow and green. Kamran Akmal was the batsman who scored the first-ever PSL century, while Wahab Riaz picked up the first-ever five-wicket haul in the tournament.

Peshawar Zalmi finished second in the league stage of the tournament and qualified for the playoffs. In the Eliminator match, they defeated Karachi Kings to reach the Qualifier round. They lost to Islamabad United in the Qualifier round but defeated Karachi Kings in the second Eliminator match to reach the final.

In the final, they faced Islamabad United once again. Peshawar Zalmi lost the match by six wickets but were declared joint tournament winners along with Islamabad United due to weather conditions.

Peshawar Zalmi was one of the favorites to win the tournament before it started. They lived up to those expectations by winning the first edition of the Pakistan Super League. The team has some world-class players in its ranks and will be looking to build on that success in future editions of the tournament. So far, Peshawar Zalmi has won once the PSL tournament.
